A Place to Welcome Others
Welcome one another, therefore, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
—Romans 15:7
Visitors are welcome at Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren! Please introduce yourself to our greeters before church or during announcement time at the beginning of worship. Announcements begin at 9:27 a.m.; worship follows at 9:30 a.m. If you have joys or concerns, you’re welcome to raise them during sharing time, just before the pastoral prayer.
Special Assistance
If you need a large-print hymnal, hearing assistance or other help, simply ask a greeter, an usher or any other church member. An elevator is available in the southwest corner of the building (to your left as you enter the Fellowship Hall from the parking lot). A handicap-accessible restroom is located on the main (sanctuary) level.
Children
Children are a big part of our worship community. They serve as acolytes, bringing the light of Christ into the sanctuary. Children’s choirs enrich our worship. During worship, each Sunday, children gather on the steps of the chancel for the Children’s Story. Midway through worship, at a time indicated in the bulletin, kindergartners through third–graders may leave for Children’s Church if they wish.
Childcare
A supervised nursery is available on the main level for infants up to 2 years old. The Toddler Room, for children ages 2–5, is on the lower level. Let an usher or greeter know if you have an infant or Toddler requiring care, and they will direct you to the right place!
